Its been quite a time of travel for me, quite a bit of it recently with my son Abel. After buying a 1984 Chevy Van conversion, and adding propane heating and cooking, and a solar cell for lights and running my notebook computer, Abel and I took off from our campsite in Joshua Tree, and headed to Myrtle Beach South Carolina, to the Avatar Meher Baba Spiritual Center there, where I had lived from 1978 to 1981, and where my second son Daniel was born.
We treveled through Arizona and New Mexico, stopping at Carlsbad Caverns, and then spending a couple days at the Guadalupe Mountains, just across the NM border into Texas. Our next major stop was San Antonio TX, where people we had run across in Sante Fe the previous November had ordered 83 of our Ojos de Dios, and we were axious to see both how they were displayed, and how they had been selling. Unfortuanately, although they were displayed very well, between two different stores, only about three had sold, even though they had been hanging for the buying public through the Christmas season and beyond. This dealt a more or less fatal blow to my ojo making ambitions, and on we went with our pilgrimage to Myrtle Beach.
........note.........photos of the above portion of my recent adventures are still in my 35mm Nikon..........look for them to be added to this page soon. In New Orleans I bought a Canon Elph, and have used it exclusively since, thus I have photos from New Orleans on, but not from earlier in my recent travels.
Since it we were traveling in the winter-time, we took a southern route, and decided to swing through New Orleans, where I had never been before. Abel and I checked into a motel for two days, and enjoyed walking the French Quarter, sampling the local food, and hanging out with street muscians near the waterfront. Also we took in the truely amazing new Aquarium, with its startling displays of jellyfish, sea turtles, sea otters, penguins, and much more. Don't miss it if you go to New Orleans!
mmmmmmmmmm

Renting half of a trailer in North Myrtle Beach, you must know, does not entirely end this phase of my life of much travel. Two trips are planned for later this year: one to my mom's 90th birthday celebration in Seattle area, August 16th; and in Sept. or Oct. making the loooong delayed pilgrimage to INDIA. Also, I have a lot of stuff stored in Joshua Tree yet, and will either, after coming back from India perhaps, either move back to Joshua Tree, or haul what I need out of that stuff here to Myrtle Beach. At that time I should know if this move to Myrtle Beach is more or less permanent, or just a long stay.
please note a change of e-mail addy, tho I will still be checking my xoommail addy for a while.
