Bones of Smithwater Canyon JTNP

Notice the skull on the left end of things. It's either from a immature male bighorn sheep, or a female. I've very often found the remains of deer near the water in this canyon also. I have to suspect a Mountain Lion is feeding here on a regular basis.

Also in Smithwater Canyon, is this wonderful water-washed rock, deeply veined with white quartz throughout. It's surely one of my favorite places to sit in the world.

Another thing about Smithwater, is that, even when, in a dry Springtime, there are very few wildflowers blooming in the rest of the Park, Smithwater can still put on a good show.

Also, once, when it was very very dry, in mid summer, I went to check out the spings in Smithwater Canyon, and although the flow was down to about that of a half turned on waterhose, water was still flowing.
