Special 1 day workshop Tuesday Oct. 8th, 1pm to 5pm, for ornament sized ojos.. $20 inludes all materials

Forks of Ivy Arts District Gallery

10am to 4pm each day, with a 1 hr. break for lunch

2501 Old Mars Hill Hwy, Weaverville NC 28787

In three six-hour days, learn to make Yarn Mandalas as fancy as you see here
Or, take any one or two days. Day one we concentrate on color combinations and relationships
practicing with simpler 4-sided ojos. Day two, we move along to 8-sided designs.
You must take either day one or two, however, to sign up for day three, or have studied on your own to where you
have made an 8-sided mandala, without the yarn sagging. Follow the links below for home study!

In the day 3 workshop you can learn everything you need to know to make your own 12-sided mandala, such as you see here.
All materials will be provided, and you can take home enough yarn to finish any one project you have started.

We'll be using acrylic yarns. If you wish to use 100% wool yarns,
that can be arranged for an extra fee at the workshop, or bring your own yarns if you like.

More workshops hopefully on a regular basis at this same location
and possibby other locations in the general Asheville area.

I've moved to the Asheville area and hope to introduce Ojo de Dios yarn mandala
weaving to Western North Carolina.

In 2010 I introduced yarn mandala weaving to central and southern India, where
now hundreds of Indians have enjoyed this unique form of mandala weaving
that originated with both Huicholi natives of Mexico, and Tibetan lamas.

And my YouTube VIDEO Price is $35 for a students first day, and $20 each for days two and three. Anyone who truly has a hard time meeting that price, can make arrangements with me to help prepare for the workshop by preparing sticks, which require center notches, and small nothches every inch to keep the yarn from sliding towards the center. Vidoes about preparing sticks are available on my facebook video pages.

Limited to 10 maximum first 2 days, 7 students for the third day. Additional days of course can always be added if enough people are interested. I'm open to other idesa about pricing.

Also individual days can be arranged for people that only want to make ornament sided mandalas. Since cost of materials is very minimal for such small pieces, the cost per day is only $20, with a minimum 3 students required.

Private lessons via Skype can also be arranged.

Give the best kind of gifts: something beautiful that you crafted yourself!

We'll start with simple 2-stick ojos the first day, and, with everyone working at their own pace, gradually learn to craft more complex designs.
I provides all materials, but if you have special yarns you want to work with, bring them along.

Here we have two examples of 8-sided ojos like you might make on Day 2 of the workshop

and three examples of 4-sided ojos like you might make on Day 1 of the workshop.

Price is $35 for one day, and another $20 per day for additional days.

Limited to 10 students each day. Additional days will be added if enough people are interested. Prices of similar workshops in the future will almost certainly be more!

Call me at (828) 707-0759 to check availibility and to arrange
for payment. A minimum 50% non-refundable deposit needed to reserve a spot in a workshop.

If you are unable to make a workshop time you paid for, arrangements can be made to take another workshop, or credit applied to distance learning via Skype. There is no minimum number of students needed for a workshop to go forward as planned. If only one student signs up, the workshop will go forward, with that one student receiving the full workshop as private lessons. Private lessons can be arranged in between schelduled workshops.
